Nicolette McGeorge Dr. Nicolette McGeorge is a human factors engineer who applies human factors and cognitive systems engineering principles to the development of technology solutions across both military and healthcare domains. Recent work involves assessment of human-autonomy teaming contexts for the development of military command and control interfaces and the design of interfaces for emergency medicine clinicians. She also has interest and experience in understanding systems and work for design with respect to decision making in complex, dynamic environments, including consideration of both cognitive and physical factors of human performance. Her research as a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University provided experience in macroergonomics, where she used both a human factors and a sociotechnical system approach in the healthcare setting to study pediatric trauma care transitions for health IT design. Dr. McGeorge is currently a Scientist at Charles River Analytics in Cambridge, MA. She received her PhD in Industrial & Systems Engineering, specializing in Human Factors Engineering, from the State University of New York at Buffalo where her dissertation studied the effects of simultaneous cognitive and physical task loads on performance and the component processes of decision making.
