For celebrating its 10th edition, the CogSIMA conference series will take place at a Canadian location for the very first time, inviting its attendees to the charming city of Victoria, a well-known tourist destination on Canada's picturesque west coast replete with unscathed, breath-taking nature. The garden city, as the capital city of British Columbia is called, will stun attendees with its beautiful garden and park landscapes, attracting visitors from all over the world. Victoria represents an excellently reachable destination for international travelers, with two major airport hubs in close vicinity, Vancouver and Seattle. Located on Vancouver Island, Victoria can be conveniently reached from either Vancouver or Seattle after a short flight or ferry ride.

The conference will be hosted by the University of Victoria (UVic), one of Canada's top universities, consistently ranking among the Top 3 universities in Canada and the Top 1% of universities worldwide.

In addition to UVic's modern and scenic campus environment, CogSIMA attendees will also enjoy the surrounding coastal beauty of Vancouver Island, featuring lush forests and spectacular mountain and ocean sceneries encouraging all sorts of outdoor activities (e.g., hiking, kayaking, sailing, cycling etc.), as well as the picturesque, old English charm of the city of Victoria offering plenty of shopping, dining and nightlife activities.

Please consult Victoria Tourism and British Columbia Tourisum for further information on local highlights.

Downtown Victoria, which is easily reachable from the conference venue by public transportation, offers a great selection of hotels meeting all types of travel requirements and price ranges.

Please consult Victoria Tourism for further information, and note that we have arranged for a group rate at the Sandman Victoria hotel. Please find further information on this group rate and detailed travel recommendations to the conference venue under Venue and Travel.
